Backstage at London Fashion Week
The session team were out once again this month, heading to the capital for London Fashion Week. This season Paul, Abby and Elinor, joined the Peter Gray Zoo assisting backstage for Paul Smith’s Spring Summer 2013 collection.
It was nerve racking and exciting travelling to the show. Paul had sent photos from the test shoot he did with Peter in preparation. The hairstyle was sleek yet carefree and I couldn’t wait to see how it would complement the clothes – elinor
On arriving in London, the team made their way to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, the venue for the show, and met the rest of the PG Zoo. Once set up was complete and the first models began to arrive, the tempo rocketed.
The atmosphere is electric and so many things are happening at once. We were drying, tying, brushing and spraying whilst makeup artists and nail technicians where working away. When I saw how well the hair and makeup complimented Smith’s new collection, I knew we had done a great job – abby
The collections bold blocks and stripes in statement colours of mustard, teal, yellow and red contrasted beautifully against muted greys and navies. Their strong lines were offset by a calm fluidity as the models sashayed along the catwalk and these opposing themes were reflected in the hairstyle the models wore.
The hairstyle was so versatile. It could be highly sculpted or quite ramshackle. Either way, it’s a style that could be customised to fit any occasion. I know the team will using it this festive season – paul
